Downtown Plymouth saw its original streetscape project in 1995, with a refresh in 2010. The Plymouth Downtown Development Authority (DDA) Board approved its 5 Year Strategic Action Plan in August 2024, in which a streetscape upgrade design was identified as a top priority. After a comprehensive bidding process, the DDA Board entered into contract with SmithGroup in August 2025. SmithGroup will facilitate a robust community engagement campaign, create plans for design and phased implementation. Construction is not anticipated to begin until 2027.

DTPForward is the name of Downtown Plymouth's Streetscape Upgrade Design project, initiated in 2025, which aims to create a vital, vibrant and cohesive area which addresses the daily needs of a bustling downtown that often pivots to host large events. We invite the community to include their voices as we reimagine Downtown Plymouth's Streetscape. Visit this page often, and follow us on socials for community engagement opportunities.
